The GAL HASSIN PLANETARIUM IN ISNELLO

Just 40 minutes by car from Insulae Resort in Cefalù, the GAL Hassin Planetarium is a place where astronomical science reveals its most romantic side, offering visitors the charm of the starry sky visible from this corner of Sicily.
The Planetarium is part of the Astronomical Park of Isnello, a small town on Mount Mufara, chosen as the ideal location for this important center of astronomical research and outreach in the Mediterranean due to its altitude and the low light pollution of its sky.

The special connection between earth and stars that this place seeks to create is already evident in its name, which plays with the first three letters of the word “Galassia” (galaxy) and the term “Hassin”, meaning “cold stream”, an ancient name given by the arabs after they conquered Sicily.
The Astronomical Park opens the universe charm hidden behind its doors, offering visitors a wide range of activities appropriate for different age groups and all seasons of the year. In the Digital Planetarium, visitors are guided by expert academics in discovering the mysteries of black holes, the lunar surface and the rings of Saturn.

On the Observational Terrace, powerful telescopes equipped with filters provide an exclusive view of the Sun and distant stars, as well as comets and asteroids passing through a space filled with iridescent galaxies. The Astronomical Museum takes visitors to the edge of the known Universe, on a journey through the work of the men and women who have made history in astrophysics and allows a close-up view of meteorite remains that have touched the earth’s crust.
