IGNAZIO MORGANTE CHEF

A young talent for Zayt restaurant in Insulae

A sicilian by birth, Ignazio Morgante has a burning passion for the art of cooking.
Although is very young, he has already developed a deep sense of belonging and connection to his land and the unique flavors it produces, thanks to the values passed down by his family and the many experiences alongside some of the best michelin-starred chefs.

Enrico Bartolini, Ciccio Sultano, Pino Cuttaia, Nino Ferreri… Chef Morgante’s training took place under the mentorship of true masters. Dedication, talent, and curiosity are qualities that Ignazio generously infuses into the kitchen of Zayt, supported by a team that is fully committed to delivering quality through a refined fine-dining menu.

Between the steam and aromas of dishes in preparation, the leadership of Nino Ferreri, chef of the Michelin-starred Limu restaurant in Bagheria and food consultant at Zayt, has refined Ignazio Morgante’s innate skills and served as the true training ground for the chef.

High-profile regional, national, and international experiences

The key stages in Ignazio Morgante’s professional training are marked by prestigious names and varied geographical locations: the kitchens of the renowned 3 Michelin-star Mudec restaurant in Milan with Enrico Bartolini, the Gstaad Palace Hotel 5-star in Bern, Switzerland, working with Ciccio Sultano, two Michelin stars, at the duomo restaurant, and collaboration with chef Umberto De Martino at the Florian Maison restaurant in Bergamo. These work and life chapters have shaped and also captivated Ignazio.

Observing and doing, deepening techniques, understanding and recognizing raw materials, living experiences beyond regional and national borders. Today, drawing from tradition and the local area, but with the boldness of a young chef eager to experiment and put his learned experiences into practice, chef Ignazio Morgante expresses his passion for cooking as the leader of the Zayt restaurant.

“The word ‘chef’
means nothing to many,
But everything to others.
For me, it is life.”
Ignazio Morgante
